Twenty Nine Teams Nominate

USFooty News received news that 29 teams have nominated for the top three divisions for the National Championships. This is five more than the required teams to fill the three divisions of eight teams.

As always the USAFL has a tough job of deciding pools and divisions for the National Championships and this year appears no exception. Twenty nine teams are believed to have nominated for the 24 slots in the three main divisions. This means five of those teams will be either combined with another team and moved into division four.

Of course speculation has already started on the make up of divisions but USFootyNews has learned only eight teams nominated for division one. This is likely then the easiest year the USAFL have had deciding the eight teams for the chance to be the premier club in the USA. Division two is getting more interesting each year as we see teams dropping back from division one and well performed division three teams looking to improve their status. We believe clubs like Portland, Philly and Nashville might appear in division two this year all coming from different divisions last year.

Stayed tuned this week as we bring more news as it filters through about nominations and seeding, or head over to the forum and lets chat.

Just a update about the 29 teams, well then there was 30. Apparently one of the Div 1 teams hadnt officially applied however we believe (not 100%) they were already included in the 8 that were looking for a Div 1 spot. Look in the forum later tonight we will list all the teams and have some more info.

Teams not getting there preferred placing is probably one reason the current system of 3 divisions on 8 teams needs revamping.
