Kicking the footy in the backyard |

I was 5 years of age and in the backyard. Every day I asked him if he could kick the footy with me. Dad bought me a plastic inflatable footy. It was my first footy. I played my first game at 9 years of age. When you think of it an Aussie kid is practically born with a footy tucked under his arm. I was raised with going to a league game every week and became a passionate one-eyed supporter.
Getting up and pulling on a jumper, playing Junior Football on a Saturday morning, then Dad taking you to the league game eating a meat pie with a coke while watching the excitement in the in the afternoon was an Aussie way of life really. Every day I kicked a football in the school yard after I scoffed down my cheese and vegemite sangers [sandwiches] during my lunch break, then it was off to the local park with my mates after school for a footy scrimmage, knowing I was going to get an ear bash because I had stayed out too long as I needed to do my homework. yeah Be first to comment this article I Quote this article on your site I Views: 868 |

Behind the Stats - The Footy Record |

USFootyNews.com is excited to be able to bring detailed statistics on USFooty games including game scores, goal kickers, the USAFL ladder and an MVP table. This information not only provides great fodder for water cooler discussion but will provide actual prizes to clubs and players that finish the season at the top of the various tables.
All of this is possible thanks to the hard work of Denmark AFL President Ian Hill and his database hosting website, TheFootyRecord.net. Hill provides a database management system that allows easy entry of standard footy results including quarter by quarter scores, goal kickers, best on ground performers, and vote getters. USFootyNews.com then gathers that database information and presents it here on our website in a mutual agreement with TheFootyRecord.net.

Welcome to the 'Huddle' and of course www.USFootyNews.com. We hope that you enjoy our offering of the very latest news and topical insight into the goings on of Aussie Rules footy in the USA and you come back and visit many times. Perhaps even everyday.
USFootyNews.com has been brought about by the ideas of Chris Adams and myself. We both felt there must be a way to better present local and national Aussie Rules Footy news here in the USA. Both Chris and I have been contributors to www.worldfootynews.com over the past years, myself only in a minor role but we very much believe WFN has made a significant impact to the sport in bringing latest news about international footy to everyone who is interested. Chris remains a reporter for WFN on USA stories and we expect there will be many links back and forth to WFN on various topics as we move forward. Chris will also continue to run his blog site at www.usfootynews.blogspot.com
With USFootyNews.com are endeavoring to supply an even greater in-depth coverage of footy across the USA and we hope you also can support our efforts.

Whilst we thought building a comprehensive news website about Aussie Rules footy in the US was important, we thought it was also important that you the reader get a chance to contribute your opinions. If you have your own ideas about anything we publish or something entirely different you might want to get off your chest, 'Hit em Hard' is the place to do it.
Look at it as the footy "soap box" if you will. As the writers for this site are contributing independently from any official teams, leagues or organizations running the sport, you can be assured we will tell it like it is. Here you can do the same.
To submit your thoughts you must become a member of the site and use the members menu that appears on the right of the site after you login. Articles submitted will be reviewed by our staff prior to publishing to ensure no defamatory remarks are made or if the topic or contents offered are not in the best interests of our readers. Other than that people submitting articles for publication own those comments and USfootynews.com accepts no responsibility for any action taken against the author of the comments.
You can also upload photos, video and audio files.
So get to it, got something to say, lets hear it. Got something to show us, well lets see it.
We appreciate if you write at least 100 words to get your point across when submitting news and reduce the size of media files where possible.
