Two of the oldest rivals in USFooty, the Cincinnati Dockers and the Louisville Kings are teaming up for the 2008 Mid-American Australian Football League season. Kentucky United, for want of a better name, following recent tradition and noting that Cincinnati is close to Kentucky, opens its account on Saturday May 17 against the Nashville Kangaroos in Nashville TN. Kentucky is excited to get going with the 2008 season.

According to Dockers coach, Kyle Strenski, "Both clubs made the decision to combine for MAAFL games for several reasons. The short distance between the two cities, improved turnout for games, raising the skill level of the players, and increased competitiveness just to name a few. Louisville and Cincinnati remain independent clubs and hold their own practices as they continue the effort to grow the sport in their surrounding areas. We know the MAAFL clubs, especially Nashville are very tough and skilled. By combining we not only are able to give clubs that we visit the confidence that we will travel with the required players to hold the game but that we hope can also offer the fans of the sport and the opposition a highly competitive game. This combination of two of the original clubs is a win/win for everyone not just Cincinnati and Louisville. The teams we play against will benefit as well from the tougher competition."
For Nashville, Marty Thompson's team will be looking to improve to 2-1 and 2-0 in MAAFL play. They were given a hiding by Atlanta but in their last game they upset defending MAAFL Champions Chicago United.
The game kicks off at 2pm at Elmington Park. After game festivities are at the Hillsboro location of the Sportsman's Grille (upstairs). Quote this article on your site I Views: 138
