In probably the game of the round, the No. 5 Golden Gate Roos play the No. 7 Orange County Bombers at Cal Poly Pomona, located at 3801 W Temple Ave, Pomona, CA 91768, with the game starting at 1pm. This the first game for the Roos for 2008 although their players have just finished three rounds of the GGAFL season. The Bombers were on the road for the first game and went down in a tight game to Dallas. Many of their players have finished 6 rounds of the SoCal Footy season.

According to the Roos' Troy Anthony, " We are taking a strong team to Orange County. We have several players who have impressed in the early stages of the season, and they will be making their Golden Gate Roos debut this weekend. A couple of regular players are unavailable this week and this is giving the opportunity for some of the new, and not so new players, to put their hand up for a new role. Playing Orange County will give us an idea of where we are in our preparation for the Nationals. They always give a solid effort, and are hard to beat at home." Bombers Coach, John Fragomeni, is also positive despite the first game loss. "We’re very optimistic about the upcoming regional season. We've got a great squad and are actively recruiting new players to increase our depth at each position."

Anthony has some suggestions for who to watch for in the game. "The pace of Mel Chen who, with his trademark mohawk, is now more aerodynamic than ever. The return of Michael Jobling after a period back in Australia honing his skills. The debut of Aaron Bradley, Daniel Pinne, and John Annany who with their marking power and strong running will give us extra bite around the ground. Can Chris Johnson return to his high-marking best? And can Kevin Brugaletta and Mark Beare provide the run and carry the back line is now looking for?" The Bombers have three players in the current Revolution squad including Andy Lindsey and brothers Kelly and Kurth Nelson. They also have some old hands like former Revolution player Chris Olson.
