USFootyNews.com and WorldFootyNews.com have joined forces to put together the 3rd unofficial USFooty Top 10 Poll of 2008.

The Poll sees the San Diego (1-0) remain at the top position after a convincing win first up against the Las Vegas Gamblers in Vegas. The Baltimore Washington Eagles remain at 2 with a dream start to the season including winning the Faststream Florida Invitational and a solid win against the North Carolina Tigers at home. For the Eagles, the big test comes Saturday when they head up to Boston to take on the No. 10 Demons.

The Denver Bulldogs remain at number three despite a disappointing trip to Florida. Remaining at four, the New York Magpies have also had a good start to the season. They were extremely unlucky to lose to the Eagles in Florida and they had a solid win against the Milwaukee Bombers at home. The Orange County Bombers moved up from 7 after an impressive win against the more fancied Golden Gate Roos last weekend. The Roos moved down to 6 after that loss. The Dallas Magpies have moved into 7 from 10 and have been the quite achievers in USFooty in 2008. The Maggies managed to hold off a determined Bombers team when they hosted OC a few weeks ago. Seattle remains at 8 after taking 1 and losing 1 in their series against the Portland Power.

The Minnesota Freeze moved down to 9 from 6 after a disappointing first MAAFL Championship game against an improving St Louis Blues. The Boston Demons moved into Top 10 at tenth as the Atlanta Kookaburras fell out after a thrashing at the hands of the Florida Redbacks in Florida.

Ok yeah, I misunderstood your statement, apologies, and yes you are right but many argue one win or loss doesnt make a season. Everyone who takes the poll Im sure looks at things differently. Some rely on past performances as a guide, some tend to write them off pretty soon.

GG and Mn probably have a chance to redeem themselves soon, not sure about Denver. Though as we have seen not playing during the year can often have no bearing on what you bring to the Nationals and where you final ranking ends up.

BTW is watercooler chat ever rational.?

To clarify:
3 Denver Bulldogs (0-3)
6 Golden Gate Roos (0-1)
9 Minnesota Freeze (0-1)
10 Boston Demons (0-0 at the time of the poll, now 0-1)

That's four "Top 10" teams without a win.

Look again, Wayne:
  • Denver Bulldogs (0-3)
  • Golden Gate Roos (0-1)
  • Minnesota Freeze (0-1)
  • Boston Demons (0-0 at the time of voting, now 0-1)

As I said, four of the "Top 10" teams haven't won in 2008.

Not sure what you mean but Balt/Wash as of Saturday have won 5 games, SD also won on the weekend and NY defeated Milwaukee last week after two wins at the Ft Lauderdale games and were only beaten by BWE by a few points. Denver is the only team not to win a game but still were 'close' in all games they played in Florida.

It's ridiculous to have four top 10 teams that haven't had a win. I hope the responses to poll #4 are more rational.
