Revo Justin Valley lines up for goal.

On Saturday June 21 2008, the No. 6 Golden Gate Roos (0-1) host the No. 1 San Diego Lions (1-0). The game takes place at Gellert Park in Daly City CA at 2.00pm. This is a big game for both clubs and may have substantial implications come seeding time for Nationals. Golden Gate was thoroughly beaten by a determined Orange County club when they travelled to LA a few weeks ago, while the Lions easily dispatched the Las Vegas Gamblers in their first game for 2008.

San Diego Lions Head Coach, Simon Schenk, sees it as a test for his Lions. He is not sure too much should be made of the Roos first up loss to Orange County. "It is always very difficult to interpret such results when you have a team travelling. Not many teams have been successful this year travelling away from home, and it is always a challenge to put your best team on the field. We certainly believe Golden Gate to be a very good team, as they showed against us at Nationals last year. Playing them on their home soil will be a very tough test for us. They have a highly successful Metro league, and a large number of very good players to select from. However, we are taking a solid group of players to San Francisco, albeit inexperienced in some positions so we certainly expect a hard fought game of footy. It will be a great litmus test for us as a team, and will be a great gauge for our preparations for Nationals."

San Diego brings a strong group of Revolution squad members including big Justin Valley (pictured) up forward. For their part Golden Gate has Revo big man, Andrew Lamont.
