Heathcote vs Hamshar

On Saturday July 26, the North Carolina Tigers (1-3) will take on the No. 3 Baltimore Washington Eagles (6-0) and will be looking for some respect along the way. Big Jason Heathcote's team is 2-1 in EAFL play and looking to go even for the season. The Eagles are 6-0 for 2008, leading the unofficial USFootyNews table and the EAFL table (2-0). A solid win on the road will put pressure on the voters to lift their USFootyNews Top 10 ranking and improve their seeding at Nationals.

Heathcote injured his knee last time out against the Eagles in Poolesville MD. He is likely to be back on Saturday. The Tigers have a large rookie contingent that will be looking to Heathcote for leadership. Heathcote will be ably assisted by Wes McCallister, Michael Coysh and Revo Paul Duncan.

BW Eagles Head Coach, Aaron Tyndall, thinks his team will be ready for a challenge. "Any games in the EAFL competition on the road or at home are hard to win, but if guys prepare themselves properly, hydrate up, rest and follow the team process, we should do OK. At the end of the day the footy is red, the grass is green and the field is an oval, and it is a Saturday so basically no difference between home and away. We are expecting a very tough game from North Carolina, they seem to play the field down there very well, and they have some extremely handy players that will be needed to be watched. Just hoping our boys are up for the challenge, because the team we played in Poolesville I almost guarantee will not be the same as we come up against this weekend, and we have a few out this weekend."

The BW Eagles had trouble delivering the ball into their key forwards against New York. It will be interesting to see what changes Coach Tyndall can make in order to improve the supply. "I am hoping Rich Strayer can bounce back this weekend. He had his colors lowered by Luke North last game, hopeful he rises to the challenge. Jay Levesque has been very good for us all year and no doubt he will continue this form this weekend and into the international cup. The regulars like Shane Frearson, Denis Ryan and RJ Wheelock I wanting them to continue to play well. Also, I hopeful of getting a kick this weekend stranger things have happened."
