Well its another weekend of footy closer to those games in October and the Orange County Bombers continue to build their momentum towards a big 2008 with two solid wins at the Duel In The Desert tournament in Phoenix Arizona. With temperatures soaring to 104 F it wasn't hard to see why the games started at 9.00am.

Orange County met the Las Vegas Gamblers first off in in a very close battle and led by just 6 points at the half before adding 2 goals to 1 in the second for a close 11 point victory. Then it was the host team the Arizona Hawks and with a bunch of new recruits they looked the goods with 4 goals in each half to beat the Gamblers 51 to 18.

The match of the day was the last of the day. Orange County who had accounted for Div 1 teams San Diego and Golden Gate at their last two games had their backs to wall against the Hawks. At the half time break it was the Bombers by just four points 1.5 to 1.1. in a thrilling encounter.

But good teams don't roll over easy and the Bombers gunned the throttle and took the game away in the second half with 6 goals to Arizona's 4 to win a very entertaining game 7.7.49 to the Hawks 5.2. 32.
