WorldFootyNews.com and USFootyNews.com are teaming up to present the 2008 USFooty Top 10 Poll. To kick things off we are having a Top 10 Countdown for the Preseason Top 10. Who are the best teams in USFooty?

The Boston Demons

At Number 10 are the Boston Demons. Boston finished the 2007 season 2-5 and ranked number 8 in the World Footy News Top 10 Poll.

They had a tough loss to the New York Magpies in New York. Their Nationals tournament wasn't what they were looking for, going down to OC, Baltimore Washington and Denver. In 2008 they have a new look website and they start the season with BWE at home. Boston will be looking to get their 2008 season off to a good start after having trouble on the road against BWE last year. While they do have BWE at home, they are playing New York twice in New York both with double bills – first against the North Carolina Tigers and then against the Orange County Bombers.

The Demons have done some early Spring-cleaning in preparation for 2008. According to Demon President, Michael Larsen “The Demons have had a very busy winter in undertaking a review of every aspect of the club as part of our revitalization efforts. We now have an almost entirely new board, a new coaching team and a re-launched website that we believe will provide the platform for a return to the on-field success that we’ve enjoyed in the past. We also have a renewed focus on the social aspect of the club to lift our engagement with Boston’s Australian community, which started with a hugely successful Australia Day party attended by around 200 people.

One big difference between the 2008 Boston Demons and the 2007 Demons is at Head Coach. Long-time coach, Robert Burgess, announced his retirement last year. The Demons are excited to welcome back National Championship winning coach, Scott Nicholas. “We are very pleased to have Scott back in town and with our former coach Robert Burgess retiring the timing was excellent. Scott has already done a great job on recruiting and has been able to lure several Demons players out of retirement, most notably USFooty Full Back of the Decade - Brad Rinklin, who will also be an Assistant Coach,” says Larsen.

The new look Demons are ready for 08. According to Larsen, “we are very optimistic about 2008 and are looking forward to bounce down!"
